Baby Blankets & Kindle Pouches

Using the instructions (first three rows) for Red Heart’s Pattern Fuzzy Ripple Baby Blanket I just finished making three blankets with Red Heart Super Saver yarn. One for a new-born boy and one for his 2-year-old sister and the third is for a little girl due in June.  Kurt’s friend will be the recipient of the first two and the last is for an assistant working on a medication study I am participating in (her mom won’t tell me what the planned name for her baby girl. Something about superstition? silly ;)  ).

For Kyle’s blanket colors are:

Color repeat is: 3 rows R; 1 row SG; 1 row SD; 1 row SG; 3 rows LB; 3 rows SN; 1 row LB; trimmed in SG. repeat the color sequence 5 times (increasing for longer blanket).

Additionally, I crocheted two Kindle Pouches.

I used Lilly’s Peaches ‘n Cream and Sugar ‘n Cream 100% Cotton Yarn. The reason behind choosing cotton is to eliminate the possibility of static electricity damaging the electronics. Another way to eliminate this problem if choosing to use synthetic yarn would be to line the pouch using a natural fiber fabric with cotton batting between the yarn and fabric.

I am now working on UFO’s to clean up my shelves for new UFO’s. Xavier and Damien will be getting the next two blankets. Xavier’s is 2/3 done and Damien’s is just begun.

Ta Ta for now!
