One Fabric = Two Designs

Mira recently shared a Bolero she created from a really pretty Peruvian fabric. When I read the post she made reference to a skirt which made with the same fabric.

In my last review of Mira’s blog I used the term ‘designer’. Mira said, “Awww, thank you Cathy! I’m no designer, but thank you for the compliment.” Clearly she is modest.

Here is the term designer as found on Wikipedia:

The person designing is called a designer, which is also a term used for people who work professionally in one of the various design areas, usually also specifying which area is being dealt with (such as a fashion designerconcept designer or web designer).”

Here are photos of Mira’s  skirt and bolero.

Can you believe both came from the same piece of fabric? They are. I wouldn’t have thought so.

I have some of this type of fabric and it does have a loose weave. Mira choosing to line the skirt is a good idea. Thanks to Mira I will be careful when I choose how I am going to use the fabric I have.
