Help Support the Homeless & Needy
Wanted
Crocheters, Knitters & Sewers
Recently, I began looking for Charities to post on the Google+ Community. I found several National Organizations, which have large volunteer bases. Then, I discovered an organization not included in the National database. I found Emily’s Hats for Hope Initiative, based in New Jersey!
Emily is a real person. The “about” page of the website states that Emily, 17 years old in 2011, created Emily’s Hats for Hope Initiative. You can read all the information on the website. Emily’s website also has listings for “Groups Mentored by Us” and many other things. We are registered as a mentored group.
Oregon’s Hats for Hope
Needs You!!
Oregon’s Hats for Hope (OHH) needs anyone who can crochet, knit, loom and/or sew to create hats, scarves, gloves/mittens and blankets. We will be researching and taking suggestions for organizations, groups, shelters etc. Photos of items received will be posted on our blog site and on the Facebook page. Additionally, there will be a record of donors and the recipients available upon request. Simply create and mail item(s) to the PO Box.
Remember, fall begins in September and the nights get chilly in the Northwest. OHH will distribute as soon as there are items in the box!
